RECIPIENTS OF HEALTH SERVICES’ SATISFACTION TOWARD HUMANIZED CARE OF NURSING STUDENTS

It is important to prepare nursing students to have the competency for providing humanize care to the patient. Boromarajonani College of Nursing Praputthabat develops the love hometown project that aims to promote nursing students to be the volunteers to work for patients, minority, and vulnerable people in community and society in their hometown using humanize care. Therefore, nursing students who love their hometown will always come back to work in their hometown after graduation. The purpose of this survey was to measure levels of satisfaction of the patients and relatives after receiving services from nursing students through the love hometown project. The study sample was 286 patients and relatives who used service at hospitals in Lopburi, Saraburi, Angthong, Singburi, Chaiyaphum, Buriram, and Srakaew provinces in Thailand. Data were collected in July 2016 using the satisfaction questionnaire. Study data were analyzed using mean, and standard deviation. Results showed that average satisfaction scores of patients and relatives were at the highest level (Mean = 4.62, SD = 0.43). With regard to the aspects of satisfaction on the service mind related (Mean = 4.66, SD = 0.38) and patient’s right and participation in care (Mean = 4.58, SD = 0.48) were at highest level. This study reveals the importance of humanizing care that enhances the patient and relative satisfaction and patient provider relationship. Therefore, the humanize care should be included both in curriculum and extra curriculum activities for nursing students.
